John E. KELLY & Sons Electrical Construction,
Inc. is
a family owned, mid sized electrical contracting firm in
the Washington, DC metropolitan area, providing quality electrical
service for nearly 25 years; we employ about 100 field
and office staff. We have a very simple business philosophy:
we provide the best service without compromise, we are honest
without exception, and we stand behind our work without question.
It is our aim to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction
while maintaining a competitive pricing structure.

KELLY has developed particularly strong capabilities in
the following areas of electrical construction, maintenance
and repairs:
- Overhead and underground lines (power and communications)
- Electrical distribution systems (low, medium,
and high voltage)
- Remodeling and repair of commercial, institutional,
government and military facilities
- Cable testing and underground cable fault locating
- Aerial electrical repairs and installation (primary
voltage and parking/sports/street lighting systems)
- Emergency and standby power generating systems
- Industrial control systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Switchgear preventive maintenance
Our company has gained extensive experience in commercial,
institutional, and industrial construction and remodeling
projects throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Public sector clients for whom we have provided quality projects
in the past include US Air Force, US Navy, US Army, US Marine
Corps, Government of District of Columbia; in the private
sector, we have built strong relationships with Safeway Stores,
Lucent Technologies, Red Lobster Restaurants, United Parcel
Service, Combined Properties, and many others. Project references
can be provided upon request.
We maintain our own fleet of line and bucket trucks, excavate
and build duct banks with our own forces, keep a stock of
wood utility poles and pole hardware for emergency repairs,
and provide primary voltage support to many military and
government facilities in the greater metropolitan Washington
area.

The vision began with John E. Kelly,
Sr. in 1982 when he established the John E. Kelly Construction
Company Inc. An Irish immigrant who came to America at
age 14, John E. Kelly, Sr. built his business on the
strong foundation of hard work and perseverance. John
Sr. retired in 1999 -- his son Steve Kelly is continuing
the longevity of the vision through growth and teamwork.
The family-owned company prides itself in old-fashioned
values and honest business dealings. |
Employment
KELLY is a union contractor, maintaining signatory agreements
with IBEW Local 26, IBEW Local 24,and IBEW Local 70. We seek and hire the
best journeyman electricians and apprentices; our rate of
retention is excellent, with many field employees staying
with the firm for over ten years. We strive to make this
